Life legacy program

The Life Legacy Program is a social impact initiative focused on empowering underserved and school dropout youths with practical digital and employability skills.

The program is designed to create new opportunities for young people who may have limited access to formal education or career pathways by equipping them with essential skills in technology, digital literacy, entrepreneurship, and personal development.

Through hands-on training, mentorship, and exposure to real-world opportunities, the Life Legacy Program helps participants build confidence, improve their economic prospects, and develop pathways toward sustainable livelihoods and long-term growth.

Techstar startup weekend Buea

The Techstars Startup Weekend Buea is a high-impact entrepreneurial experience organized by Sum-IT Africa to empower aspiring founders, innovators, and problem-solvers to transform ideas into viable startup concepts.

Over the course of the program, participants collaborate in teams to identify real-world problems, validate ideas, develop business models, and pitch innovative solutions with the guidance of experienced mentors, facilitators, and industry professionals.

The initiative is designed to foster innovation, entrepreneurship, teamwork, and practical problem-solving while creating a platform for young people to connect, learn, and launch impactful ventures within their communities and beyond.

Iot Hackathon in FET

The 3-Day IoT Hackathon at the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, University of Buea was a hands-on innovation program organized by Sum-IT Africa to expose engineering students to practical problem-solving using Internet of Things (IoT) technologies.

The hackathon brought students together to collaborate in teams, develop innovative solutions to real-world challenges, and participate in technical workshops, mentorship sessions, prototyping, and project presentations.

IoT Hackathon in COT

The 3-Day IoT Hackathon at the College of Technology was an intensive innovation and problem-solving experience organized by Sum-IT Africa to empower students through practical collaboration, creativity, and technology-driven learning.

The hackathon brought together students from different backgrounds to work in teams, identify real-world challenges, and develop innovative solutions within a fast-paced, hands-on environment. Throughout the three days, participants engaged in brainstorming sessions, mentorship, prototyping, pitching, and teamwork activities designed to strengthen both technical and entrepreneurial thinking.

Beyond the competition aspect, the hackathon served as a platform to expose students to innovation culture, practical problem-solving, and startup-oriented thinking.

IoT hackathon in BIAKA

The 3-Day IoT Hackathon at Biaka University Institute of Buea was a hands-on innovation program organized by Sum-IT Africa in collaboration with engineering students to promote practical learning, creativity, and technology-driven problem solving.

The hackathon provided participants with an immersive environment where they explored concepts in the Internet of Things (IoT), worked collaboratively in teams, and developed innovative solutions to real-world challenges using engineering and emerging technology approaches.

Throughout the three-day experience, students engaged in ideation sessions, technical workshops, prototyping activities, mentorship, and project presentations.

The initiative demonstrates the importance of creating practical innovation ecosystems where students can apply classroom knowledge to real-world projects.

Startup Case Studies

Our Startup Case Studies sessions are designed to expose aspiring entrepreneurs and innovators to real-world startup journeys, business models, challenges, and growth strategies.

Through interactive discussions and practical analysis of successful and emerging startups, participants gain valuable insights into entrepreneurship, innovation, problem-solving, market validation, and business development.

The program helps participants learn directly from real experiences while developing a deeper understanding of what it takes to build and grow impactful ventures

Tech Clubs for Secondary Schools

We partner with secondary schools to establish Tech Clubs that inspire students to explore Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Coding, IoT, Electronics, Digital Fabrication, and other emerging technologies from an early age.

Through hands-on projects, mentorship, innovation challenges, and access to our makerspace, students develop critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, and digital skills while building technologies that address real-world challenges.

To deliver meaningful practical learning, our Technology Clubs rely on access to laptops, robotics kits, microcontrollers, sensors, networking devices, and other modern technology equipment. Every donated device helps equip young minds with the tools they need to learn, innovate, and prepare for the careers of tomorrow.

We invite technology companies, educational institutions, and development partners to support this initiative by donating equipment, sponsoring school technology clubs, or partnering with us to expand access to STEM education across Africa.

Together, we can equip classrooms, inspire innovation, and prepare the next generation of African technology leaders.

Every year, thousands of laptops, desktops, servers, networking devices, and electronic components are retired by businesses while still capable of transforming lives.

At Sum-IT Africa, we give this technology a second life.

Through our Advanced Technology Training Center and Makerspace, donated equipment is used to train young people in Artificial Intelligence, IoT, Robotics, Embedded Systems, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, and Digital Innovation. Every device becomes a tool for learning, experimentation, and innovation.

We invite corporations, technology companies, universities, development organizations, and institutions to partner with us by donating surplus or decommissioned technology equipment.
